The Way

Child safety standards

The Way prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation absolutely, and acts on it without a warning ladder and without a second chance.

Our standard

The Way prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every part of the app. This includes any sexualisation of a minor, any attempt by an adult to make romantic or sexual contact with a minor, any child sexual abuse material, and any content or behaviour that endangers a child. There is no context in which this is permitted here.

An account found to have done any of this is permanently removed. Reports of this kind are treated as the highest priority we have, and are referred to the appropriate authorities.

How to report it

Inside the app, every profile, message, group and event carries a clearly labelled Report action, separate from Block. Reports about a minor at risk are handled at the highest priority. You do not need an account or the app to reach us: email support@thewaychrist.com.

Child safety point of contact: support@thewaychrist.com, reaching Lumetrin Consulting Services LLC.

Age and the adult-only parts of the app

The Intentional Connections part of The Way is for members aged 18 and over. Eligibility is checked on the server against the date of birth held on the account, on every read and every write, and is never decided by the app on the member's device. Members under 18 cannot see it and cannot appear in it.

Community Guidelines — What is not allowed

Anything involving minors. Any sexualisation of a minor, any attempt by an adult to make romantic or sexual contact with a minor, and any content that endangers a child. This is reported to the appropriate authorities and results in a permanent ban with no ladder and no second chance.

Community Guidelines — What happens when a rule is broken

Severe violations — threats, exploitation, danger to a minor, sexual exploitation — skip the ladder entirely. Only a senior administrator can issue a permanent ban. If you go a long stretch without further violations, earlier steps stop counting against you.

Content Moderation Policy — Priority levels

P0 — immediate risk. Credible threats of violence, a minor at risk, sexual exploitation, signals of self-harm, imminent real-world danger, or a suspected minor in Intentional Fellowship.

Content Moderation Policy — What we can do

Severe violations skip the ladder. Threats, exploitation, sexual content involving minors, and imminent danger can result in immediate permanent removal on a first offence, and are referred to the appropriate authorities where the law requires or permits it.
